Dear Glenbrook Club Members,
The 2017 Summer Season at Glenbrook is fast approaching and we want to update you on a variety of things that you will find of interest.

As many of you know it was a tough winter in the Sierra with record snowfall and fierce storms. The golf course lost some very large trees but there appears to be no significant or lasting damage. We were lucky and are happy to have the resulting ample snowpack and an official end to the five-year drought. The lake is projected to be at maximum level this summer which we have not seen in a number of years. Although the beach will be smaller, the boaters will have good access to the dock all summer and into the fall.

You will be receiving your Glenbrook Club dues invoice shortly and it will include a modest 3% increase. As you may recall, we did not raise the dues last year but we need to this year as our costs continue to increase as we try to deliver better and higher quality services in the restaurant and on the golf course. It is a real challenge to operate the Club on a financially sustainable basis as we are a small community with only 230 members and we have many important services to provide. On top of that, we are forced to co_mpete for seasonal employees in a very competitive resort environment. We are very interested in recruiting new members into the Club and if you have any thoughts on potential candidates, please let me or any Board Member know and we will contact them. Needless to say, keeping our membership strong is critical to the long-term success of the Club.

Attached is the Club Calendar for the summer. Please keep it handy so you are aware of the various events that will be taking place. In reviewing the calendar, please note that the Annual Club Memorial Day BBQ is scheduled for Saturday, May 27th at noon and you don’t want to miss the kick-off event for the summer. We will be posting the calendar on the Glenbrook Club website which is expected to be fully operational by June 1st. We will be sending you directions to access the website in late May.

Finally, we have attached an update from Thomas and Eric who are working very hard to get the Club ready for us!

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me or any of the other Board Members whose names I have listed for easy reference.

Thomas Tornga, VP
Jean Anne Jensen, Secretary
Pat McClain, Treasurer
Randy Bolten, Director
Nancy Field, Director
Leslie Heisz, Director
Dana Jackson, Director

We look forward to seeing you this summer and are striving to make the Club a better place for all members.
